Why of Serri Top or Seri Ziarat?

The peak that can easily be seen in the west of Mansehra city is Sirri Top, with an elevation of 8411 ft. It is the tallest and nearest peak of Mansehra and Tanawal Valley. Here, there is a shrine of a Sufi saint, Hazrat Al-Munir Ghazi. This shrine is called Serri Ziarat. Two types of tourists are trekking to the Serri Top. One goes on a pilgrimage to the shrine, and the other loves the summit. The best time to travel is March to September.

Trekking to Serri Top in Tanawal Valley

An easy track to go to Serri Ziarat or Serri Top is starting from Mansehra rather than wandering from there. There is a paved road up to Madseriyan, and after that, there is a dirt road. You can get very close to the top by a 4X4 vehicle or bike. If you go on foot from Matserian, it is a 3-hour journey.

The second route of the Sri Ziarat is a long trek through the thick forest through the rest house above Karori Bala. It is a challenging and nerve-wracking trek of four hours of continuous ascent. You can trek three peaks on this path: 7250 ft, 7700 ft, and 8170 ft., then the Serri Top 8411 ft.

The third route of Sri Ziarat is from Chamial or Goriaan De Gali, then reaches an unnamed peak of 6740 ft, then Chamyal Top at 7510 ft, and then up through Ranibat Top at 772than then to Serri Top. This is also a problematic trek, a 4 to 5-hour trek for the people living here. The route is also a long trek through dense forests. It is a challenging and nerve-wracking route with continuous climbs. On this route, you can see four major peaks.

The 4th way of Serri Top is the easiest and without fatigue. You come by car from Gali Badral to Makhan Gali Top, which is 5380 feet high, and then reach the Biland Kot Gali in the southeast on this northern hill of Koh Bhangra. There is a dirt road from Gali Badral to here. Start your trek from here and slowly walk uphill into the forest, enjoying the fascinating scenery of Tanwal Valley, Agror Valley, and so on. You should stay on the side of the hill and keep walking. There is a gradual ascent on the way. You will not feel tired.

A little further from Buland Kot Gali on the right, you can see Seri, Sanjaliala, Thakra, Doga Nawab Sahib, and Kharyala. And the seee at your lift, you can view Shergarh, Bathu Bandi, and Gali Badral in the foothills and Serigoria mountain, looking at your journey one-on-one from the right direction. After two hours, you will reach the southeastern peak of Koh e Bhinghra, which is 7,208 feet high. You will see Madserian below, which was mentioned earlier in the route.

Parhena Town will be visible from here in the foothills northeast of the Bingra range. In the far east, lush green and fertile Pakhal Valley and the zig-zag meander of Siran River can be seen, and then the flowing of Siran River in the south direction through the lower plains of Tanawal Valley will be seen towards Tarbela Lake. Here, you can rest for a while and refresh yourself. Then, from here southwest, start strolling on the ridge of the hill, and after precisely two hours, you will be proud to reach the nearest and highest peak of Mansehra and Tanawal Valley at 8411 feet.

This fourth ascent trek is easy and highly enjoyable for both new and old trekkers and is also the most leisurely trek during the snow season. Through this fourth trek, you can start your trekking and mountain climbing journey by heading to Sri Top.
